Doug began his real estate career at Lake Tahoe in 1979 soon becoming a multi-million dollar producer. From 1983 to 2007 Doug managed and owned a major franchise office in South Lake Tahoe, building it into a market leader with 25 agents and staff. In 2007 he merged his long-standing office with Chase International becoming the sixth Chase office at around Lake Tahoe. Doug taught Real Estate Principles at Lake Tahoe Community College for ten years in the 80’s and 90’s. He has been an officer or director of the South Tahoe Association of Realtors 14 times over the past 28 years, and has been named recipient of the South Tahoe Association of Realtors “Realtor of the Year,” Community Service Award and Distinguished Service Award. Doug's very close family consists of his wife, Diane, a dean at Lake Tahoe Community College; his son Bryan, daughter-in-law Leila, daughter Jennifer and brand new grandson Judah. Doug delights in chairing a local non-profit organization providing educational scholarships for underprivileged high school graduates, and he sits on the South Lake Tahoe cabinet of the El Dorado Community Foundation.

As a result of the May 2008 settlement between the U.S. Department of Justice and the National Association of Realtors®, ForSaleByOwner.com will be the nation's first "by owner" real estate Web site to enable home sellers to advertise their home on Realtor.com without appearing on a local Multiple Listing Service (MLS).

JP Morgan Chase Announces Loan Modification Program

JPMorgan Chase & Co. on Oct. 31st announced a loan modification plan that will help as many as 400,000 customers avoid foreclosure. JPMorgan, which has already modified about $40 billion in loans, will not put any loans into foreclosure as it expands its program over the next 90 days. Another Landmine in the Short Sale Process

This article in the weekly Realtrends update caught my eye. The flood of foreclosures and short sales has not crested yet according to this piece. This "new twist" in lender requirements for a short sale may actually add REOs to our inventories. Let's be sure our short sale sellers are aware of this potentiality.

South Lake Tahoe Bucks the Over-Supply Trend

Areas throughout Western and Southern Nevada into the Sacramento Valley and points south are suffering from very high inventories of unsold single family homes and condos. All of this while South Lake Tahoe, CA inventories are presently leaning more towards historical averages.
